You are embarking on an exciting employment journey, and we want you to be well informed. This document contains many of the important policies and procedures by which we manage our daily operations. As you read through it, you will see that our way of doing things is based on a clear vision of the kind of company we are, and the shared values we hold.

We will be working together to produce the highest quality Associates to our clients. Please read all the following information carefully. You may direct your questions to Northern Employment Solutions.

As an Associate of Northern Employment Solutions Inc., you are considered to be an elect-to-work employee. An elect-to-work employee is one who decides, without penalty, whether or not to work when requested. You are not covered by the public holidays provisions of the Employment Standards Act 2000, except for the right to be paid 1.5 (one and one half) times your regular pay for each hour worked on a holiday.

Working Associates are paid weekly by cheque or direct deposit. All mandatory fringes will be deducted from your gross pay, including federal and provincial taxes, CPP, and Employment Insurance.

Your wage depends on many several factors, including but not limited to the job description, where the company to which you are assigned is located, and the shifts you are willing to work.

You are registered with, dispatched, supervised, and managed by Northern Employment Solutions Inc.

Northern Employment Solutions’ office hours are:
8:00am - 8:00pm on Mondays to accommodate those who work during the day
8:00am - 5:00pm Tuesday to Friday

All Associates are to report on time and in a professional manner. You are expected to be ready to work at the start time of your work schedule. Tardiness is not acceptable, and may result in the termination of your assignment. In the event that you are going to be late or unable to go to work, please contact Northern Employment Solutions immediately.

Vacation pay is payable by request only. To make a request for vacation pay, please contact Northern Employment Solutions. Please note that it will take approximately 2 weeks to process your request.

A Record of Employment (ROE) is issued by request only. To request your ROE, please contact Northern Employment Solutions. Please note that it will take approximately 1 week to process.

Lost cheques must be reported to Northern Employment Solutions immediately. Replacement cheques will take approximated 3 weeks to issue.

T4’s are issued annually, at the end of February.
